How to choose a hair extension training course
Six questions that help you compare courses and avoid paying for training that does not suit you.
Hair extension courses vary a lot in length, content and what you take home. Use these questions to compare them before you pay.
1. Which methods are taught?
A single-method course goes deep on one skill, such as nano rings. A multi-method course covers several, so you can recommend the right one to each client. Decide which fits your plan.
2. Do you work on a real head?
Ask how much of the day is hands-on. Practising on a training head is a good start, and you should be able to ask the trainer questions while you do it.
3. What is in the kit?
A kit to keep lets you keep practising at home. Ask for the list for your date, because kits change.
4. Is there a certificate?
A certificate helps with insurance and with showing clients you have trained. Ask what it is called and who issues it.
5. What about insurance?
Hairdressers and people new to the industry can have different needs. Ask what guidance the course gives on insurance.
6. What happens after the course?
Find out whether you can ask questions once you are home. Support afterwards matters most when you fit your first real client.
When you have your answers, see what a nano ring course covers and ask about the latest dates.
